Off-Road Texas Style in a 2019 Ford F-150 Ranger

2020 Ranger

When you’re ready for an adventure, the 2019 Ford F-150 Ranger is ready, willing, and able to take your next adventure to a level of excitement you won’t want to miss out on.

Off-Road Readiness

Available in three trims (XL, XLT, and Lariat) the F-150 Ranger can easily handle everyday driving on city streets. The truck’s wild side comes out and takes control whenever the terrain changes from traditional in-town roadways to the challenge of off-the-beaten-track terrain.

Power and Performance

All trims are equipped with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged inline-4 engine capable of producing 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The F-150 has a payload capacity of 1,860 pounds and a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds.

The Ranger makes driving smooth as silk whenever you take to the highways, byways, and scenic back road trails with the 4×4 Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly (ESOF) system. With the twist of a dial, you’ll be in four-wheel-drive mode, either high or low, and ready to rock whatever road surface comes your way. When you’re ready to make tracks on the pavement, just turn the dial for the two-wheel-drive option.

Off-Road Capabilities

With the inclusion of the FX4 Off-Road Package, available on all trims, every adventure can be driven in confidence with the support of the many features it provides. Also included in the package are trail control and a terrain management system.

For stability, the off-road package has the Ranger fitted with off-road monotube shocks, an electronic-locking rear differential to enhance traction at both wheels at the same time, and a set of all-terrain tires with heavy-duty tread with firm gripping power.

For protection, the off-road package includes a front heavy-duty skid plate, steel bash plate for the front, and skid plates for the fuel tank, the EPAS (electric power-assist steering) motor, and the transfer case. From inside the cab, you’ll have access to a screen providing information such as the steering angle, roll, and pitch of the truck.

Terrain Management System

Whether you’re driving around town or off-road, being in control of the terrain you’re traveling has its advantages. With the Terrain Management System that comes with the FX4 Off-Road Package, you have the choice of selecting one-of-four driving modes: normal/grass, mud/ruts, gravel/snow, or sand.

While you’re driving, the ESOF system engages and automatically calibrates specific areas that include control systems, engine responsiveness, and transmission gearing. With these “on-the-fly” calibrations in place, the Ranger will be operating at peak performance, high-end traction, and optimal drivability.

Trail Control

When you’re ready to take your Ranger over challenging terrain, the Trail Control system also included in the FX4 Off-Road Package allows you to activate the system that supports better navigation. While activated, the system maintains the truck’s speed in a range of one to 20 miles per hour along with managing the brakes and throttle. With the system maintaining control over these areas, you’re in control of driving, navigating, and negotiating the rocks, ruts, and bumps in your path.

The F-150 is made to wander. Whether you enjoy traveling on scenic highways or prefer taking the road less traveled, you can rely on the performance, power, and durability of Ford’s rugged Ranger.
