When a friend recommends that you try out a new restaurant, you can usually visit the restaurant and know that the service and food will be great. We want you to have an excellent experience at a brewery that you’ve possibly never tried before, so the following is a list of four of the best-rated breweries in San Antonio. Learn what each of the breweries has to offer and what to expect when you visit.

  1. Künstler Brewing 

You can find beer artistry at Künstler Brewing. This restaurant and sports bar are considered San Antonio’s first artisanal craft brewpub. You can order a charcuterie plate, a cheese plate, sandwiches, salads, baked goods, plates to share, and various specials. On the beverage side, you can order one of their unique beers, a soda, wine, or cider. You can choose one beer or order a flight to taste several.

If you want to visit Künstler Brewing with your family, stop by from noon to 7 p.m. Note that after 7 p.m., only those 21 years and older can enter the brewery. You’re welcome to schedule a tour of the brewery too. 

  1. Back Unturned Brewing Co.

At Back Unturned Brewing Co., you’ll feel inspired to keep pursuing your dreams, just as the owner, Ricardo Garcia, makes his dream a reality at the brewpub. You can enjoy quite a variety of food and beers at this brewing company. Items on the food menu range from starters and wings to salads and pizzas. You can also order dessert, pizza packages, and nonalcoholic drinks. As is the case with many breweries, Back Unturned Brewing Co. rotates through their selection of beers, so you’ll probably find different beers on tap each time you visit.

Back Unturned Brewing Co. is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

  1. Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling

Referred to as a brewstillery, Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling creates and serves award-wining beer and whiskey. This Texas-proud brewstillery sells its famous beers to bars, restaurants, grocery, and liquor stores, but you can also purchase their beer from the source too. Ranger Creek also makes and sells year-round and limited-release whiskey products.

You can visit Ranger Creek’s tasting room Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. or Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and order light food items, beer, whiskey, and cocktails. If you would like a tour of the brewstillery, you can attend a tour and taste on Saturday between noon and 3 p.m.

  1. Islla Street Brewing Company

For something a little different, check out Islla Street Brewing Company. This brewery produces small batches of craft beer inspired by unique fruits and spices from Mexico. This is the place to be adventurous and try a new flavor. You won’t be disappointed, and you may even leave with a new favorite. Islla Street Brewing Company is the laid-back, pet-friendly brewery you’ve been waiting to visit.
