  1. San Antonio Museum of Art 

The San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) is one of the area’s most beloved monuments. A masterpiece in its own right, it’s just off the River Walk at 200 West Jones Ave. See the world without ever leaving the neighborhood with currents exhibits such as “Texas Women: A New History of Abstract Art” on display now through May 3, 2020, in the Cowden Gallery.

Stop by and browse “Fertility, Blessings, and Protection: Cultures of Baby Carriers,” where you can explore the artistic traditions of Taiwan and other indigenous cultures now through June 21, 2020. See traditional infant carriers made from fabrics, slings, and wraps that were fashioned by these fascinating people.

  1. Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio

The Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio dedicates its galleries in remembrance of one of the most tragic eras in our history. Located at 12500 N.W. Military Hwy., it’s divided into three areas of reflection.

The first gallery explains how the Holocaust began, the second chronicles the rise of Nazi power, while the third gallery details the unimaginable suffering that the Jewish people endured. Learn about the very real danger of intolerance through this memorial’s educational programming.
